What Can We Do?

Okay, so I am not a politician or a nationally known public figure. I’m just little me, going to college, living my life. But I am incredibly frustrated by our country’s immorality, namely abortion, and I want to do something about it. So, I have a few solutions, be they quite obvious, and I invite you to list your solutions that the ordinary Joe Pro-life can do to battle this evil. Here is what I have come up with so far:

1. PRAY!!! Pray for the souls of the aborted children, the mothers, the fathers, the doctors, the nurses, the people who counsel post-abortion mothers, our culture–anyone involved. Especially pray the rosary. And do it persistently and regularly.
2. Stand Against Artificial Contraceptives: the Catholic Church, and faithful Catholics, are wise enough to realize that contraception is the root of the problem, that the two are inextricably related, and that contraception is the basis for the whole culture of death (I’ve written on this). Do not support it, even in the lightest conversation.
3. Don’t Be Afraid: Don’t avoid the subject just because it will make people uncomfortably, and don’t turn it into another “issue”. When God presents you with the opportunity, pray that he presents you with a way to discuss abortion charitably and explain it logically and concisely.

4.Teach You Kids: Teach them not just that abortion is bad, but any act of ill-will toward another human being, especially a vulnerable one, is wrong and should not be tolerated. Teach them to pray for all of those involved in the culture of death.

1. Give Money/Time: Donate to Project Rachel and crisis pregnancy centers or volunteer there.
