You could have simply quoted and responded to my whole post, but instead you cherry picked a quote out of context to distort my position.

Your response to my question would do much to clarify my understanding of your position. You could have simply quoted and responded to my whole post , but instead you cherry picked a quote out of context to distort my position.
Yep… the phantom 'young earth creationist" club…You could have simply quoted and responded to my whole post , but instead you cherry picked a quote out of context to distort my position.
I think that this is what the document means when it talks about the “task of exegesis”. It includes literary and historical research, but isn’t limited to it alone. There must be something in that document that talks about how the word of God is veiled, and how the Church attempts to interpret scripture apart from the literary and historical research. For example, the parables that Jesus told require a certain amount of interpretation which is mostly beyond what literary and historical research can provide.
Remember: free will isn’t about doing “what we want”, but rather, about the ability to do what is right. It’s all good, we all have free will to believe what we want.
