What could it mean to see a dream of being possessed after doing intense prayers?

Coming straight to my intended question :

At night I had done the Holy Rosary prayers and then, novena of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Having done that, I felt so peaceful and closed my eyes to sleep.

Lo and behold! Instead of waking up to a serene air around me, I woke up like " What was that?God ,what horrifying thing was that?".

I was (supposedly) being possessed. I do not know what exactly it was but I “felt” so. My body was flying up in the air ( I was, God knows, in a “hostel” ? , a lodge for mothers? Funny, it sounds). I was (screaming out) to Jesus and asking for help to maybe some people present there - my mom? My cousin and my aunt? One was reciting Hindu prayers ( point to be noted is , I used to practise Hinduism several years back) .

Perhaps, it’s just my psychological warfare with the current situation I am dealing with but never have I had such a dream.

I’ m no longer frightened by dreams, and as someone put it earlier in one of my questions that dreams are dreams, and should be let gone. But this one is concerning me.

Plz advise. Ignore the dream? Or perhaps, I’m facing off more “disasters?”

Do your family members practice that religion? I would ignore it and pray more, maybe ta``ke it as a warning to not go back to my old ways or that others in many ways can try to drag me back to it, even with good intentions. Know that you will be protected from evil as long as you remain with God.

Also here are some prayers from the book Deliverance Prayers for Use by the Laity by Fr. Ripperger for before going to sleep for protection during the night and dreams, you may want to begin using it, it is a good habit (NOTE: none of these are exorcisms as he explains in the preface, but are appropriate for lay members of the Church to ask God for protection and deliverance from evil influence and so on):

Punishing Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, I ask Thee that from now and until I fall asleep, while I sleep and during my dreams, that if any evil spirit tries to affect me that Thou wouldst punish him by making him focus on the thing that causes the most pain during the entire time he tries to affect me and for ten minutes more. I also ask Thee to not allow him to retaliate.

Comission of the Care of Soul and Body for oneself: Into thy hands, Mary, I commend my body and my soul. I ask thee to provide for them and to protect them. I ask thee to protect them from the evil one. I ask thee to enlighten my mind, strengthen my will, and refrain my appetites by grace. Our Lady and St. Michael, call down from Heaven the legions of angels under your command to protect me; I ask of thee all the things I ask of my Guardian Angel My guardian angel, under thy intellectual and volitional protection I place my body. I ask thee to illumine my mind and refrain my appetites. I ask thee to strengthen my cogitative power, my memory, and my imagination. Help me to remember the things I should and not remember the things I should not. Help me to associate the things I should and not to associate the things I should not. Give me good clear images in my imagination. I ask thee to drive away all the demons that might affect me while I sleep (say: “throughout the course of the day” if said when not going to bed instead of “while I sleep”). (If going to sleep say also: "Help me to sleep and, if thou should deem it prudent, direct my dreams. Help me to arise refreshed). Amen.

@tagtotaloffice. My dad seeks Buddhism, mom - I think she confers to Universalism, I mean she’s not upholding any one “path” but to all that she is aware of, in existence. My brother - he isn’t an atheist exactly, but he doesn’t pray to any Divine figures either.

Thank you very much, I shall follow the prayers you’ve suggested. God bless! 🙏
