What did you get for the godparents?

Awww, thanks! šŸ™‚ But seriously, what his godparents wanted most of all was some nice photos of the little guy, as we don’t live in the same town and don’t believe in putting him up on Failbook… šŸ˜‰
I have to agree he is adorable!!

No way my baby inherits her cuteness from her mom too šŸ˜‰
Why not? Perhaps cuteness genes are carried on the X chromosome that a baby inherits from his or her mother… I really must take this up with my colleagues in the genetics field. :)šŸ‘

I was thinking a framed picture or a book, but I’m not sure. Obviously I am new to this!!
The gift of my friendship. It’s the gift that keeps on giving!

I didn’t know it was a thing to give them a gift, they usually give my babies gifts…

So maybe a thank you note, otherwise you might start a gift war that never ends…

But seriously, perhaps a handwritten letter detailing the virtues they have that led you to choose them.

Agreed. :yup: Those who go out of their way to ā€˜give or do something special’ can be perceived as being suck-ups.

That’s mean…when someone gives you a gift, or does something nice, do you always think there is a negative ulterior motive?
If so, it’s something to pray about.

Uh…  :dts:

I didn’t say that gift-givers *are *suck-ups. I said that they can be *perceived *as suck-ups.

Doing something special for others is nice, but wouldn’t you feel suspicious if someone made a habit out of it? Or if someone becomes too ā€˜concerned’ about it?

As mentioned previously, I am not opposing to gift-giving. See post #9.

Personally, I am a Mother Theresa fan, and please allow me to share a quote:

ā€œWhen you are kind, people will accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anywayā€ā€¦ I think this is a powerful quote.

Yikes, if I lived my life according to how others perceive my actions that would be pretty sad.

And yes, I get it that you are stating that others who are overly kind are perhaps trying to manipulate, but for the most part, I consider my actions, and the actions of those I associate closely with to be genuine. Especially when it involves a Holy Sacrament.
