What do I do about a questionable retreat master?

There will be a retreat in the fall given by a bishop who is clearly sympathetic to gays and lesbians, especially to their “right” to adopt children. Without giving more details, this is something strongly recommended that we attend. No plans to comply. Are we being prejudiced or judgmental?

No. In fact, if the bishop is not the ordinary of the diocese in which he will be speaking, I recommend sending the details of this event to the local bishop who is the ordinary. Generally speaking, bishops request permission of brother bishops before speaking in a diocese not their own. But there have been cases where a bishop has not followed this protocol and has had to be “disinvited” by the ordinary for promoting views at odds with the Church. If your potential retreat master has not yet informed his brother bishop of his plans to speak in your diocese, your bishop will be interested to hear about this.
