What do I tell my kids?

I’m facing a dilemma this Christmas. My “brother” is coming over to our house for Christmas. We’ve not seen “him” for three years now. He was very good with our kids when we saw him last. (They were 3 and 5 then, now they are 6 and 8) but that was when he was still a “he.”

You see, he underwent a sex change surgery and hormones and all that during those three years. Now he is a “she.” So, my brother now wants the kids to call him aunt and stuff…

I feel they are too young to be exposes to this kind of thing, and I’d rather introduce them to gender confusion and all that later. Also I’d feel really awkward around my new “sister” just addressing him/her as such. What should I do?

I guess one of the problems is just how our family is heavily involved with the church, and my brother is sort of a black sheep. I don’t know what to do. Can you all help me please?

God bless and keep you safe during the holidays.
I honestly feel you need to speak with your brother about this…

If my brother were to do this, I would tell him that they were still going to call him uncle because they were too young to understand and that I was going to tell them that he was an actor and in a play and that he has to dress like a woman…Whether my brother would understand or not that would be his choice…But if he loves and is considerate of the children, like I know my brother is, he would understand and go along with it…

Until they are a bit older and are able to accept and understand about their uncle being now an aunt…

Good luck and God bless.
