Ishmael's child:
Some Christians say that the Comforter(Periqlytos) mentioned in these prophecies refers to the Holy Sprit. They fail to realise
that the prophecy clearly says that only if Jesus (pbuh) departs will the Comforter come. The Bible states that the
Holy Spirit was already present on earth before and during the time of Jesus (pbuh), in the womb of Elizabeth, and again when Jesus (pbuh) was being baptised, etc. Hence this prophecy refers to none other than Prophet
Muhammad (pbuh).
it seems that our muslim brothers do not like to read the links that refute their claim, maybe they prefer a clear refutation directly on thread? let’s see:
periklutos eh? we have thousands of New Testament manuscripts pre-dating Islam and not one of these contains the word “periklutos”.
let’s continue:
“And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Comforter,
to be with you for ever, even the Spirit of Truth, **whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you”. ** John 14.16-17.
Was mohammad with the disciples forever? no, he neither knew them nor lasted forever
The world cannot receive mohammad? well it did…mohammad cannot be seens or known? was mohammad a spirit? Did mohammad dwell in the disciples? was mohammad in the disciples?
furthermore, If, as muslims claim that the original word was periklutos and that Christians changed it into paracletos, then the sentence would have read, “He will give you another praised one”… this statement is both out of place in its context and devoid of support elsewhere in the Bible cuz Jesus is never called the “periklutos” in the Bible (the word appears nowhere in the Bible) so it is grossly unlikely that he would have said “He will give you another praised one” when he never used that title for himself…worse still, as the muslims say that he actually foretold the coming of muhammad by mentioning his name, the sentence in that case would have read “He will give you another Muhammad”. The further the muslims try to press the point, the more absurd it tends to become.
“But the Comforter,
the Holy Spirit, **whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you”. ** John 14.26
was mohammad a Holy Spirit? was mohammad sent in Jesus’ name? did mohammad bring to the apostles’ remembrance all that Jesus said?
“But when the Comforter comes, whom I shall send you from the Father, even the Spirit of Truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness to me”.
did mohammad proceed from the Father? did he bear witness of Jesus to the disciples? John 15.26
I still fail to understand how muslims fall to such a lie.
