When we pray the Hail Holy Queen at the end of the rosary we ask God to grant that we may imitate what the mysteries contain and obtain what they promise: what do the mysteries of the rosary promise?

It might be referencing the promises of the Rosary generally rather than promises related directly to the mysteries themselves.
(tangent)
The odd thing is that the Salve Regina / Hail, Holy Queen is believed to have been composed by Hermann the Lame in the 1000s. However, the Rosary was not given to St. Dominc by Our Lady until the 1300s, which makes the traditional prayer of “O God, by His only begotten Son, by His life, death…” most likely an add-on, since it mentions the Rosary and the promises thereof.

Thank you. I just want to know what I am praying for when say the prayer.

After the Hail Holy Queen, in that dialog one asks to obtain what the mysteries promise. There are many mysteries but what is obtained is salvation, greater merit and therefore greater Glory and Beatific Vision, that is, a “more perfect resurrection” through cooperating with grace. Also to be obtained are an increase of virtues as demonstrated in the meditations.

Jesus is the truth, the life, & the way. By meditating on the mysteries we learn the way. We then imitate Jesus.

We’re all called to suffer some & we learn how much God Himself was willing to suffer for our salvation in the sorrowful mysteries.

We’re called to hope & we see what to hope for in the Joyful mysteries.

We’re called to rejoice in the resurrection & celebrate the Church, glorious mysteries.

& in the Luminous mysteries we’re called to live a sacramental life.

That’s really a general overview, but I suggest you get yourself a catechism (or look it up online) see how the Church defines each gift of the Holy Spirit. Pick one, read it’s definition before starting your rosary.

Doesn’t matter which one goes with which mystery as they’re all covered in some way.

Thank you. I never thought about the gifts of the holy spirit having anything to do withe mysteries of the rosary.
