Lisa asks Who Will Go To Heaven

JesusFreak16:
A) Someone who was baptized in the Catholic faith, but has long since forgotten the Lord?
If they die in mortal sin they will not go to heaven

JesusFreak16:
B) Someone (such as a Baptist) who believes in Believer’s Baptism, but has yet to be baptized?
If they die in mortal sin they will not go to heaven

(Keep in mind that I know ONLY GOD can judge and your answer will not influence me, I am simply wondering what CATHLOICS think to gain knowledge.)

Ok I am seeking Catholic opinion. I know, I know, you “know” that Catholic opinion is the truth, not “opinion.” Yet I think that Protestant “opinion” is the truth. Funny how that is.
My only question is how do you know which ‘truth’ is right? Where does your, mine, or anyone’s power to teach the faith come from?

Ah yes opinion, I guess that is the question. As a Catholic revert I have come to realize everyone has and is entitled to an opinion. When a Catholic needs to know something that relates to his or her faith we go to the church for an answer therefore eliminating the need to rely on our own opinion, which is of course subject to our own limitations, knowledge, and circumstance.Just out of curiosity who do you turn to when in doubt of your own opinion or interpretation of some teaching or Bible quote for verification? We know by reading scripture that Christ established a Church but did not comission a book. As Catholics we are not a Bible based Church we are the Church of the Bible. So to answer this and other questions you may have I suggest humbly that you pick up a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It is a good read at the very least and you may be surprised at what we really believe. Form your own opinion but not until you have all the facts.

Peace
Paul

Y’all might have seen this before but no one really answered it so I decided to make it a new thread.

Ok I want to get this straight…
Who Will Go To Heaven (if he/they died an unexpected death) ?
(Keep in mind that I know ONLY GOD can judge and your answer will not influence me, I am simply wondering what CATHLOICS think to gain knowledge.)
A) Someone who was baptized in the Catholic faith, but has long since forgotten the Lord
B) Someone (such as a Baptist) who believes in Believer’s Baptism, but has yet to be baptized
C) Both
D) Neither

Ok I am seeking Catholic opinion. I know, I know, you “know” that Catholic opinion is the truth, not “opinion.” Yet I think that Protestant “opinion” is the truth. Funny how that is.
Anyway, don’t be mad at me and don’t pity me unless you pity me the way you pity yourself, a fellow sinner.
God’s Peace~
Lisa
You’ve indicated that the Catholic didn’t have a relationship with the Lord but didn’t mention whether or not the Baptist had one.

In Christ,
Nancy 🙂

Has anyone else noticed that this JesusFreak last posted on Oct.3rd? After a little barrage of threads, mostly on the order of “I am a Protestant wanting an honest answer” and this one above, it would be nice to see JesusFreak respond to the multitude of posts which addressed her “concerns”.

Well, I’ll try to be charitable. Perhaps she was so overwhelmed by the thoughts, the clarity, and above all the charity of the vast majority of the posters that her concerns are COMPLETELY addressed and she is now so busy seeking out RCIA that she doesn’t have time to respond otherwise!
