I know its fun messing around with them, but we must also remember they are human beings who are taken advantage of by a cult! We must help our fellow human beings in need of help. However if they are being persistant and they wonā€™t leave you alone no matter what you do, then further drastic actions may need to be taken such as a hose or broom, but that is ONLY if you have to.
I would say if you are not firm in your beliefs or not good at explaining the trinity then donā€™t answer the door!
But if you are then please plant seeds in our lost brothers and sisters, we must help them come back to the truth.

I made the mistake once and invited JWs in my home - now I hide when I see them at my front door.

Unless one is really strong in their Faith and is practiced in argumentation then I would encourage this type of reaction to them ā€¦

I was raised a JWā€¦ I know that they take great pains to train all of their members well in the ministryā€¦ They have what they call weekly ministry school in which they create mock scenarios and then are graded actually on how they respond and deal with them. If you do not respond well enough you must then do the practice exercise over again until they think you have become proficient at itā€¦If someone is new to ministry they are always sent out with someone that is seasoned at it.

Their initial thing is to get you interestedā€¦ So say if you tell them something like this ā€¦

I believe that Christ said that all those that accept Him have the opportunity for redemption they will agree with you ā€¦ when in reality their true belief is that ONLY JWs are the annointed ā€¦

IOWs if you are not a JW then you are what they call a ā€œworldly personā€

ALL Worldly people are led by the Devilā€¦

They believe that it is ok for them to lie, believe it or not, contrary to what some people believe when they deem that the person that they are talking to is unworthy of the truth.

And this is just a start ā€¦

Then we get into the realm of the Divinity of Christ ā€¦ they do believe Him to be a god ā€¦ but note how I wrote that ā€¦

a god ā€¦ not GODā€¦ they believe that all the angels in heaven are gods just not the Almighty or YWHWā€¦Jehovahā€¦

They are very skilled at apologetics and debate so unless you know the Bible and you know how to combat them then I would advise to not answer the door or to simply in a Christian manner tell them that you have already found the Truth and you are not interested in hearing what they have to sayā€¦

Having been at a friends place when that happened he got his Aust. Catholic Society tracts and Bibleā€¦they left in disarrayā€¦
 
keep your dipper pail on the front poarch and hand them a dirty dipper.

or you could always just install a fake trap door on your front poarch.
 
I have been blessed that in 40 some odd years I have yet to have such people appear at my doorstep.

Iā€™m not sure how I would react.

Would a hearty laugh be appropriate?
 
The last time the JW came to the door they tried to get me to believe we all fall asleep after death. They read out of the Old Testement to prove thier point. I quoted the New Testiment and told this may have been true before the gates of heaven were open, but one does not sleep in heaven, there is just to much to do.

The elder of the group said we have a disageement in the interpatation of the text and they left and have not returned.

I just told them what I new to be true.
 
I usually tell them that Iā€™d be glad to talk to them when my husband is home. I give them my number and ask them to call and make an appointment. The JWā€™s have never kept an appointment or have never bothered to call. The Mormons came one time and then were so confounded they brought back there stake leader. As nice as we were, they left with the stake leader yelling at us. It was quite amusing but sad. They couldnā€™t handle it when we told them their church was not a prolife church. We told them to write their ā€œprophetā€ and ask him. Then they tried to justify why he would allow a member of their church to have an abortion. Like I said, sad.
 
I just got my copy of This Rock magazine, and it has an article on hospitality that addresses this topic. According to the author, we are to invite them in and present them with the Truth of the Catholic Church. As Catholics, we are to be knowledgeable enough about our faith to be able to present it to others. I better get studyinā€™! But no one ever comes to my door. Do you think itā€™s the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on my front lawn? šŸ˜ƒ
