My mother has a prayer book, in it there are two prayers that contradict each other. 1) The 15 St. Bridget Prayers, 2) A True Letter of Our Savior Jesus Christ. Here are the links to them: marypages.com/BrigittaEnglish.htm catholictradition.org/Christ/true-letter.htm
They clearly contradict each other, which one do you believe? In the St Bridget prayers, Jesus says he received 5475 blows (my book says 5480). In the “True Letter” the number of blows add up to far more than 5475. So which one do you trust in? Both say you will be punished for not believing in them. What do you do? What about the shroud of Turin? I saw a documentary that cemented my faith that it is real, but they counted the wounds, and I do not recall the number but it was far, far less than 4000. Can all three be true? Will God forgive you for just choosing one to trust in, or will you be punished as the “True Letter” says? Opinions please…
