Maybe this is true in Asian countries. Most notably China and India.

I don’t think this preference for boys is as prominent in the west as it is in the east.

I do think that when it comes to gender preference abortions…boys are favored over girls, even in the west…but it is by a very small margin.

This article would probably hit a little too close to home for some people.

It speaks the truth, maybe it causes a stir because of how truthful it is. Some people just can’t handle the reality of it. Or maybe I’m wrong.

I think that’s quite a read. And maybe it’s a comment on what standards really mean. And whether sometimes they’ll need to be lowered. In order to get married. Or maybe it’s just really telling girls that they’re going to have all the power in China soon. They’ll get their pick. So they should at least be able to find the best guy for their needs.

That and the fact that China’s gonna have a pretty big army of frustrated young men soon. If they don’t already.

I don’t know. Just some thought for you there.

Peace.

He talked about the fact that in the West, we have the opposite problem due to men’s unwillingness to marry.

This all seems about like what is happening. But it has happened throughout time, durng times of war when many young men died, etc, when lots of women died in childbirth, etc. As societies, we don’t have a lot of tolerance for not getting what we want.

China and India are in big trouble…whether they realize it or not…whether they want to realize it and address it or not.

It’s already a huge problem in China that little girls are being kidnapped by families who want a wife for there sons.

Even in other Asian countries like Japan and Korea. They don’t have the same policies or extreme cultural issues that China and India suffer from…but families in those countries tend to be very small…one child and two at the most and the fact remains that boys are vastly preferred.

I think it is a great article and 20 years ago, I wish someone would have told me EXACTLY what that article did. I can’t count how many people ‘promised’ me I would meet someone and at 45 I am still single:rolleyes: Goes to show what those people knew.

My only regret is that I never realized being happily single was an option until my late 30s. Why didn’t someone tell me that option existed 20 years ago and I wouldn’t have spent so much time wishing for something that was not God’s will

IMO we need more honesty like that article had
