I’m watching Columbo on tv and he ordered chili and coffee. The guy who served it said it was the best chili in town.
I thought chili was just a spice but is it also a dish? Sounds hot anyway.

Ok so it is just a shortening for chili con carne! Now I get it! Here in Sweden we dont call it chili but use the full name.

I always have chili at least ‘once’ during the winter. It’s good anytime, but I especially like it during the winter months.

Chili is a dish that can be made with different ingredients to suit one’s taste. I love the stuff, but let Wendy’d make it for me!

Chili is on the menu for tomorrow’s supper. My wife has a real talent for making chili too.

Chili has many variations.

The most popular is Chili Con Carne. This is a Spanish phrase since the dish originally came from Northern Mexico and the Southwestern USA. Chili is the name of the pepper used and con carne means with meat.

Chili Con Verde is chili made with pork.

Chili Non Carne is a vegetarian variety.

White Chili is made with white beans and chicken or turkey breast.
Columbo is such a good show. 😊
“Just one more thing” 🤣

Yes! And that raincoat and the car, and the wife we never saw!

Argh! I would’ve been fooled too. In Italy people do put chilli (grinded hot pepper) in their coffee. I thought chili with coffee means a coffee with chilli.

😂

In his defense, $6 would have been a lot for a bowl of chili back in the day! 😮

I’ve never had that in my espresso. I know that it can be mixed with chocolate.

And pasta sauce. I make a quick tomato sauce, olive oil, garlic, red pepper flakes, crushed tomato, salt and basil. It cooks as the pasta cooks.

You may add smoked sweet chili dust for an extra special flavor.

I an going to try chili in my coffee in the am. I never had that when I was in Italy.
I like caffe corretto though.

As a nod to Skyline, we always add a bit of cinnamon to our Chili.

And who mentioned Wendy’s? Nope. It is not good chili unless you can stand your spoon upright in it. Wendy’s makes chili-ish soup.

I add cinnamon to meat based tomato sauces. I think it compliments the meat very nicely.

I’m another one who likes Wendy’s chili! 😀 😊 😋

I like some extra shredded Cheddar cheese on top of it, and some saltine crackers in it, too. Yumm…!
