What does it take to learn about Catholicism?

Hello,

I have a protestant all my life but I am now very open to knowing more about the Catholic faith. I have attended many masses and talked to 3 different parishes, in person, phone and email. But no one gets back to me. I do not want to debate but I do know my Bible well and am looking for some regular honest talks on the differences. The only responses I have received were, wait for the next RCIA class. I really would like to talk to someone now as I am not sure I am ready for the class and I don’t want my questions to confuse or cause doubts to anyone else.
