What does the Catholic Church teach about Fibonacci numbers?

“Fibonacci numbers” is a mathematical rule that in one aspect reflects natural order… just like Newton physics rules … Religion or Christianity does not have conflict with physical truth or natural discovery. Names like “God’s particle” or “God’s fingerprint” are just scientific “brands” … they are not meant for building up a connection with religious concepts …

Why would the Church teach mathematics?

The Fibonacci series has been proven to be present in nature, some have joked that God is a Mathematician, which undoubtedly is true for He is all knowing.

The Church teaches that we can understand the Universe because God gave us the intellect to be able to do it. Also we should marvel and revel in the beauty of creation.
 
The Church does not have a teaching on Fibonacci numbers. Divine Revelation consists of faith and morals, not mathematics.
 
The Church doesn’t teach anything specifically about Fibonacci numbers (unless you mean in math classes run by Catholic schools and universities).

The Church does teach that God “ordered all things in measure, and number, and weight” (Wis. 11:21), and therefore has always taught that God’s creation was done with math in mind. So it’s not surprising to see the Golden Mean, Pi, Fibonacci numbers, prime numbers, etc., being important in nature.

And of course, math is part of the basic knowledge every human should learn, as well as being a good preparation for theology (being one of the seven subjects of the medieval education plan).
 
The Fibonacci Sequence is a beautiful bit of mathematics that pops up all over in nature. I consider it to be one of my evidences for the universe having been designed rather than random.

The only Church teaching on the matter would be that there is no teaching on it because it is mathematics and not anything to do with faith or morals. As has been said before, it has been proven to exist in nature.
 
If God had a language, it would be mathematics, IMNAAHO

The Fn series is a mathematical truth (and an awesome one!), not a religious one. As such, there is no need for a Church pronouncement on it.
