Hi, I’m a Catholic and I’ve fallen in love with my first cousin and she’s fallen for me too, but we’re concerned about where the catholic church stands when it comes to marriage of first cousins, 'cause we’ve asked to a priest and he said the Bishop from my town can give us a permission from the Catholic church to get married. But he also said that it depends of the Bishop and “he’s rules” cause he may not be ok with it and deny the permission (if there is such thing). So I would like to know what’s the official statment of the church. We don’t want to go against the church, but we also want to find a way to be together, if there is one. I know there might be genetic consecuences and that’s why we’re doing the Genetic Counseling studies. I just want to solve every doubt or obstacle before taking the next step.
Thank you.
Thank you.
