WHAT EVERY CATHOLIC NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT HELL

What you don’t know about Hell can hurt you! This well-rounded documentary presents the Church doctrine of Hell.
Tuesday, October 25, 2 PM ET
Friday, October 28, 3 AM ET

I don’t know when this show will be presented in other time zones.
Contact EWTN for more information ewtn.com/

Amen, i need a slap in the face about hell. I think im becoming to complacent.

I wonder why it on during a time that most working people cannot watch it. 😦

If you cannot watch the program when it originally airs, if your computer has a media player, you can go onto EWTN’s website and download programs sometimes. I don’t know if they will archive a single special, but they do at least for the regular programs, so it’s worth looking into. 👍

Here’s the weblink to get streaming audio &/or video of EWTN.

And speaking of the theme of evil, don’t forget about this week’s episode of Life on the Rock. Johnnette Benkovic will be on and the theme of the show is “Yep, the devil is real.” Should be a good one.

My notepad is out and my pencil is sharpened.

A couple of quick reads on hell:

What Will Hell Be Like? by St. Alphonsus de Ligouri
Hell and Its Torments by St. Robert Bellermine

Mind you these are both Doctors of the Church. 🙂

tried to TIVO it but can’t find it on program guide for times listed, either by EST or CST (my time zone)

Years ago, in a Parish I was in, a very good Priest did a series of talks on Heaven, Purgatory and Hell, he did the first talk the first week on Purgatory, and the second week, he did his talk on Heaven, then, at the end of the evening, he said, “Now, if you want to know how to go to hell”, come back next week…well, I sure didn’t go! 😛
I will watch that on EWTN though, thanks for the reminder 👍

I read a couple of years ago “The Sermons of St. Alphonsus de Ligouri,” and his sermons were awesome. I may have to pick up these books.

Thanks for the reminder contemplative!

Its been a very long time since I have sat in front of the TV absolutely riveted. That was an excellent show. It was utterly fascinating and has definitely given me a new perspective on God’s teachings & His love for us. Why would anyone even fathom willfully rejecting Him after seeing that show??!!

It was very nice to see Fr. Shannon Collins also. I have not seen him on EWTN for a while.

I am going to buy a couple of copies of this show for family & friends to see.

Hell is never a topic around my house. Heaven is not a common topic either. I did record it for the rest the family to view.

Was it Scott Hahn who said “Lucifer condemned himself to be an eternal ash”? I was thinking eternal a** off course…I think he was too.

Giving into our fleshy desires seems to be a bridge to being an eternal ash. I can see and feel how this is true.

I tend to believe as Kimberly Hahn … much greater emphasis should be placed on loving God rather than fearing hell.

As the Act of Contrition goes…
I detest all my sins
BUT
because I have offended you my God who art all good and deserving of all my love…

:yup: 😃

Yes, that was Scott. His wife did offer a very loving perspective when speaking about her children. I am in the process of teaching my son the “Act of Contrition” for his first confession & I loved the suggestion from the show to say it every night before sleep.

This show will offer some great conversations for the dinner table for sure!
