What happens to the water that is poured into the chalice with the wine at consecration?
 
Hi,

The water slightly dilutes the wine. At this time the priest says: “By this sacred mystery, my we come to share in the divinity of Christ who humbled Himself to share in our humanity.” The water represents us and the wine is actually about to become the blood of Christ. Through His incarnation and passion, Jesus has given us the opportunity to share in His divine life.
