I start the RCIA class next month and wan curious about what happens at the Easter Vigil?

lighting the Easter fire and paschal candle
procession with proclamation and singing as the light is passed person to person with candles in the darkened church
up to 9 readings including OT readings that capsulize salvation history, punctuated by responsorial psalms
exultet proclaiming resurrection sung by celebrant
epistle and gospel, sequence
homily
blessing water
baptisms
profession of faith
confirmations
continue with liturgy of the Eucharist
first communions for newly baptized and confirmed
closing rites

newly blessed holy water will be available, and sometimes blessed Easter bread (not communion, ordinary bread)

may be a reception of some kind for new Catholics, their sponsors and families.

why not simply ask your RCIA coordinator?

you will be told what rites are coming up as they occur, be prepared, told what to do, when and where, but probably not told it all at once to avoid confusing or overwhelming the candidates

Just wanted to give you encouragement on your faith journey and give you an early “Welcome Home” :clapping:
