I’m sorry, but as disappointing as it is when a new priest seems ill-suited to a parish, it is the bishop’s decision where to place a priest. All parishioners can do is to both pray for the priest and do their best to help the priest transition to the community as quickly and easily as possible. Only if a priest is not just “not a good fit” but actually causes harm to a parish should the parishioners bring the matter to the bishop’s attention for evaluation.
