I have not been CAF for a few weeks, it may be even longer. I thought there was a forum where you could get help with issues but I cannot seem to find it. Is there one?

I am a little concerned/annoyed that CAF is effectively attempting to make me do two things over which I should have the choice. In the web browser I normally use when I come to the CAF website it says I have an adblocker which I must disable. I have two issues with the first. The first one is about personal choice. I have every right to have an adblocker and should not be forced by websites, and which happens all to often, to turn it off. I would be quite happy to whitelist CAF so that their website would not be blocked by my adblocker. The second thing is this. I do not have an adblocker; therefore, I do not know why CAF are saying this.

The second thing that annoys/concerns me is I have got here to CAF by using a different web browser. That makes me suspect that CAF do not like my preferred web browser. However, again, I should have the choice over which web browser I use and the one I use I chose because it is safer.

Hi Tom, in the weeks you were away CAF instituted a system where everyone has to either have a paid patron membership or view ads. The feedback forum is now only available to patrons (those with a paid membership).

We’ve already had a thread where people complained about being forced to watch ads if they didn’t want to be patrons. CAF apparently needs to pay bills for the forum, so they are not changing it back. Either you pay for the patron membership (I call it paying the “ad tax”) or you watch ads.

I think there was also a thread where people who didn’t have an adblocker were being told that they had one due to some bug or glitch. Several people had the problem. I’m not sure where the thread is but maybe someone can link you to it.

I haven’t installed an ad blocker, yet I’m still told I have one. Did somebody give me an ad blocker I’m not aware of?

My browser sometimes will automatically block some ads, and I have no control over that. It doesn’t block any of the ads on CAF, and I don’t mind seeing ads on here. It actually rarely blocks any ads.

But I’ve never installed my own ad blocker. So, where do they get the idea I have one?
