What if I'm unable to attend Mass on Sundays?

I work in law enforcement and after a divorce I chose a shift where I work long hours during the weekend. This allows me to keep my children during the week, but I’m unable to attend Mass on Sundays, or even Saturday night.

Changing work hours would force the kids to move back with their mother and involve changing schools.

I’ve started attending Mass on weekdays, but does this count?

Dear t,

If you can’t attend Mass on Sundays, then going during the week will do. It sounds like you are burning the candle at both ends. I salute your dedication to your family. You are in our prayers.
