What if you are Confirmed while not in a state of grace?

I was Confirmed on Palm Sunday, and a couple days later I remembered a mortal sin I committed the day before my Confirmation. I totally forgot about it the day of Confirmation. I went to Confession yesterday, and confessed that I may not have been in a state of grace. But now I’m afraid I’m going to go to Hell. Is this sin so bad that it can’t be forgiven?
