What is the “blessing of the Church”?

Besides objects like houses one hears of asking for the blessing of a marriage.

Are there other events or states in life that one can ask for a blessing for? Are any of them possible for a single person?
 
In the context of what you’re talking about here, I’d think that any blessing given by a priest according to an approved ecclesiastical form, whether of a building or place, a sacramental, an object to be used during the Holy Sacrifice of Mass, a person, or whatever on earth, imparts the blessing of the Church, the priest acting by merit of his ordination as an agent of the Church with respect to sacerdotal functions.
