How is demonic oppression manifested? I was raised Protestant and converted to Catholicism about 15 years ago (Didn’t go to church for many years. Was a lukewarm Catholic after initial conversion. Have become much more devout about my faith over the past 6 or so years.). The recent misfortunes over the past 5-6 years of my life have become daunting, with the past 6 months becoming unbearable. A priest in my former diocese (just moved 5-6 months ago) suggested it might be demonic oppression. Can someone explain this to me and give me more insight? With the limited research and information I have I am beginning to wonder if this is the case with the escalation events making my families life a daily struggle. This is a foreign concept to me, so I am ever so grateful for any insight offered. God bless.

Thanks for the response. Great article. I read that article when researching the topic. The circumstances follow the same pattern but with my husband’s job and moving (as well as other issues) rather than health issues (and God bless the author and his family). I just don’t know what to think or where to go with this! What do you do? We are currently fasting, praying the Rosary nightly, and praying 3 novenas (St. Cajetan, St. Jude, and St. Joseph). Is this enough if that is what is really going on?

Hello, I heard that reading the Psalms daily after your daily prayers help. I mean… it’s not just that I read this, but I used to have strange nightmares and people were mean to me for no reason, nothing worked in life, sadness all day long, and after reading the Psalms the intensity of the dreams diminished and now I no longer have these strange dreams, not like before, like an alternative reality. And I no longer am just floored by people even when I’m trying to be nice to them.
I read it somewhere that we must read the Psalms daily even if we don’t fully understand what they mean, they are not for human ears but for the devils, they understand and are defeated from the power of the Psalms.
Also try to burn a candle under your personal altar every night.
May God deliver you from this struggle!

You submit yourself to the Church under the direction of a Catholic Priest.
I read that having a priest come to your home to conduct a Mass may be an effective method. Also make use of the sacraments, including Confession. Prayer and living a virtuous life is also very important.

PM me if you have any further questions to which I can go into greater detail.

A priest can conduct Mass in your home? I heard about blessing your home but first time hearing about Mass…is it fairly common?

I became aware of this because of a booklet I have on Exorcisms. It recommended Mass in one’s home but also recommended frequenting the sacraments as the most effective method to deal with this.

If you have any questions, please ask your spiritual director, preferably a priest. I learned this from a booklet, but the best source is your local church, even the bishop.

I don’t know if it is fairly common.
