Why do so few people respond to these polls? It’s so easy, costs nothing, and is fun!

I rarely vote in (as opposed to respond to) these polls simply because it’s rare that they are worded in such a way that I can simply choose an answer.
Hades is the realm of the dead, to which all people went before the Harrowing of Hell.
One could use the word “hell” to mean the same thing (as I just did), but the problem is that to most people today “hell” doesn’t mean the dark, chilly underworld most everyone goes to like it did for the Northern heathens, but the place of the eternal torment of the damned- the “fiery Gehenna” of the New Testament. It was not to this hell of the damned that Jesus descended, but to what is sometimes called “the Limbo of the Fathers”, where those who died without mortal sin on their souls before the coming of Christ waited for their liberation.
Obviously all these things are not so much places as states of being, but we traditionally speak of them as though they were places.

I don’t participate in polls which ask questions about objective truths because they have no bearing on truth, and in some cases, lead people away from the truth.
A poll taken 1000 years ago would have determined that the earth is flat but it wouldn’t make it so. What makes such a poll dangerous is that it could lead many to believe that since the consensus is that the world is flat, it must be so.
The only thing a poll which asks about an objective truth might do is gauge public percetpion in terms of how it corresponds to objective truth. If that is the goal, then it is a good poll. If the poll is to help someone determine objective truth, then it is a bad poll, dangerous even.
It is one thing to gauge public opinion. It is another to try to determine truth through a poll. What is Hades? Does all grace come through Mary? These are questions for theologians, not pollsters.

I would have voted for the literal translation of Hades in this case, being grave. After that it would be tradition or speculation and it certainly could have more then one meaning.
