What is known about angels?

What is known about angels and where does the knowledge come from? What is the extent of an angel’s freewill? Lucifer chose to oppose God, could an angel like Gabriel or Michael ever fall? Are angels still actively being created like humans are?
 
There is an excellent book written by Peter Kreeft in question and answer form. It is called “Angels and Demons”.

Yes, a very well written book with a simple layout.

A few thing the Church has taught about Angels;

The existence of Angels and their spirituality is De fide. IV Lateran Council (DB 428) and in the Vatican (DB 1783, 1805).

They being pure spirits (without bodies “corpus subtile”) is Sent. certa.

  2. They play harps
  3. They sing so beautifully
  4. They are Messengers for the Lord
  5. They held Our Lord up, on the Cross and in the garden.
  6. We each have a Guadian Angel.
  7. Our Guardian Angel is tenacious in guiding us to save our souls
  8. They worship God
  9. They are part of the Communion of Saints
  10. They are much smarter then us,
Most importantly St Michael the Archangel is going to kick the devil’s butt again.
