What is the Alpha program?

Have you heard of ALPHA? It was brought to my Church and I attended couple sessions but I don’t feel good about it. This week I went to the pre-retreat to get a feel of what’s coming but I don’t feel comfortable with the way they pray. Any (name removed by moderator)ut, advice would be greatly appreciated.
