When it comes to evangelization, you often hear that we need to spread the “good news” and share the gospel (good news), but I don’t often hear what the main content of the “good news” is.
It also seems to me that the “good news” in a nutshell is that there is a God, he loves us, and he has come to save us through his son Jesus Christ. But before we can share the good news, people need to be convinced of the bad news. What is the bad news? What do we need saved from? Or is there more to the good news that needs to be stated?
How do you go about evangelizing in today’s world? I often hear the quote that is attributed to St. Francis, something like “preach the gospel always, and use words when necessary”, but what are those words? And when do they become necessary?
