I was reading in this portestant new letter and the author made referance to “the book of enoch”. Has anyone heard of the book? I nver have and was wondering what it is and where it comes from.
any advice would be helpful.

The book of Enoch was mentioned in Jude 14-15

is it something that Christians should read? or it junk?
Sue,

The Book of Enoch is part of the Apocrypha, or books that didn’t make it into the Bible. (Protestants use the word “Apocrypha” to refer to the Deuterocanonicals, but I am following the Catholic meaning of the term.) I have never read it, so I can’t tell you whether it is junk or not, but I would think that if Jude quoted from it there must be some good in it. It is not Bible, however, and we should not get any of our doctrines from it.
