What is the Capital of Israel aka the Holy Land?

Replacement Theology== that somehow the Jews screwed up too many times and lost the right to the Holy Land and that Christians have a new convent and they will get a new heaven and earth and new Jerusalem.
 
All I know is Jerusalem was taken in conquest by the Jews rightfully after they were attacked unprovoked. If they say it is the capitol of their nation then it is. As long as they allow Christian’s to visit our holy sites, I have no issue.
 
Imagine if Hamas had free reign of the Holy City. How long would it be before pilgrimage became too dangerous?

This two state squabble is useless. The Palestinians blew it a number of times. Yasser Arafat really screwed up. He was given a one time offer at Camp David the Palestinians only dream about now. Arafat didn’t take it because he would no longer be needed.

Time to move on. I wouldn’t officially call off the talks, I just wouldn’t answer the phone.

If that did come down, would Francis follow in the footsteps of his predecessor, Urban II,and take proactive measures to protect pilgrims?
 
Sadly I don’t think geopolitics would allow any pope to do so. Can you imagine the outcry from certain circles if armed Christian’s were escorting pilgrims and got into the occasional skirmish with Muslims?
 
Right. The world doesn’t know it but it needs a strong Israel.
