What is the Church's view of Manifest Destiny?

I am an American, and as such was taught that America was ordained by GOD to stretch from Sea to Shining Sea. What is the Catholic view of this teaching?

Hi,

The term “manifest destiny” comes from politics–not religion. The Catholic Church ministers to people from all nations. It certainly does NOT teach that the United States has a right to absorb the other countries located on the North American continent.
