Might fall under the category “things Christ is not really worried about”.
Oh to know the mind of Christ definitively like you do…
Since Christ is the Logos of God, God is become reasonable in him. God is mysterious and at the same time God is reason-able. What he reveals can be reasoned with by human beings.
So we can, to the extent possible, know the “mind” of God through Christ.

We can know what Christ considers important in the human condition, what Christ’s concerns are in our faith walk. We know this by knowing what Christ said, did, who he criticised, who he praised. etc…

Externalism is not something praised by our Lord Jesus. In fact it seems that some of his harshest criticism is aimed at externalism.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to just throw our hands up in confusion at the mind of God. God wishes to draw us toward him. Christ and his Church can guide us.

As human beings we have limited amounts of time to respond. With Christ we can determine:
“this is important, this is not so much”, and order our lives as such.

These are not adaptations to the GIRM, rather they are notes for the priests. There is also a document pointing out the changes in the GIRM compared to the 1975 one. Both were issued around the same time.
You’ll find them here:
http://nlo.cccb.ca/index.php/documents/eucharist
That’s what I suspected.

So if they’re not actual adaptations to the GIRM, but rather some kind of suggestions to go against what the GIRM does say.

On page 1, I read this
It presumes the General Instruction of the Roman Missal and is in no way intended to replace it, but should always be read in conjunction with that official document.
As I read that sentence, it’s an admission that the pastoral notes do NOT constitute an official document.

Nothing says who wrote it or who approved it (only who holds the copyright).

All that is an indication that the document itself really speaks with no authority at all.

Thanks for providing the link the the complete text.

I don’t know if it’s permitted or not. I do know it makes me a little uncomfortable. But it’s really not a big deal.

Though there’s one guy in my parish who starts shouting “LAMB OF GOD YOU TAKE AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD” at the that point in mass and raising his hands to heaven.

Don’t be that guy.

😄
