What is the difference between Awareness and Consciousness?

I’m having a hard time distinguishing awareness from consciousness.

For example what would be the difference between “X has awareness” and “X has consciousness” ?

Hmmm. Consciousness is the act or state of, being “conscious” or awake, alert and other synonisms.
Awareness is to know something. Like the officer asking you: Where not you aware that running that red light is a $250.00 fine?
