Yes, Blessed John Paul II now has a feast day. It is October 22, the day of his installation as pope in 1978. Ordinarily, a saint’s feast day is the day on which he died (and thereby entered eternity), but the day of John Paul’s death (April 2) is a day on which the Church usually commemorates Lent, Holy Week, or Easter. Presumably, the Church determined that John Paul II would be a saint of such significance that the Church wanted the faithful to be able to fully celebrate his feast day.
