What is the most affordable online Catholic school that offers a Masters in Theology?

Hello Everyone,

I’ve been doing some research online, and it appears that Holy Apostles College and Seminary has the best price and has a very good reputation. It is $325 per credit hour, you can’t beat that for an online school! Any one know of a better rate for an online university or seminary?

Also, what is the difference between a Masters in Theology vs. a Masters in Pastoral Studies?

It doesn’t seem like RTL is looking at cost alone. Holy Apostles is included on the Cardinal Newman Guide of recommended colleges and universities.

Have you checked the rest on the list? That might be a good place to start.

That seems to be the going rate these days for a Masters in anything online from a reputable university.

You could consider looking into the Franciscan University of Steubenville, although it’s not an online program. It’s a “distance learning” education in which you get a package of recorded material. There’s also a 6 unit residency requirement.

I only suggested it since it’s $185 per credit hour, although that might not matter if you live outside the US, considering the residency requirement. The school is also orthodox from what I’ve heard.
