What is the Pishatta?
Is Maureen Gaelic for “Little Mary”? Interesting. O yes, “The Women” is quite a cult classic, very stylized and arch. Lots of familiar faces: Norma Shearer of course, Joan Crawford, Marjorie Main, Paulette Goddard,Joan Fontaine, Rosalind Russell etc etc. ALL the characters are women, it’s based on a play by Claire Booth—even the ANImals are all female. It really is an interesting and amusing period piece from 1939.headman13 - Thank you!
I was asked that question in an earlier post on another thread when I referenced chapter and verse. The questioner never came back to explain his/her question and I’ve been wondering if I was the victim of sarcasm. Oh well, live and learn.
Anyway, thanks so much for your reply!
BTW, my username, Little Mary, is the Gaelic translation of my given name. Never saw “The Women” - is it a good movie?
