What is the point of "pop" instruments at Mass?

Now let me be very clear, I am not declaring that there is no point. I would like those who support the use of “pop” instruments (e.g. electric guitar, drums, etc - instruments which have migrated from the modern popular music culture) at Mass to tell me what they believe to be the point, the benefit that they provide to the liturgy.

Because there can never be enough liturgical music threads.

I neither support nor reject such music, but I do have a preference for music performed on the instrumentation for which it was written. Listening to traditional hymns played on guitar or synthesizer, or contemporary music played on the organ, are both equally grating, like hearing the national anthem on the kazoo.

Psalm 150,Ps.5:1,Ps.149.There is a story of a young who lived sometime around 1700 who complained to His father about "church music.His father became angry and told him if he could do better,write one.The young man took the music from an English pub song,wrote differant lyrics.A lot of people sing this song at Christmas.The title is Joy to the World.
