What are the most used sources for Protestant teaching on prayer to Mary? I would like to discuss this with a Protestant friend of mine.
Also, has there been a high level meeting of Catholic authorities and Protestant authorities to discuss differences in beliefs on prayer to Mary? We’re results published?
This would help the laity from continually going round and round about this in discussion, often with neither side really knowing the facts.
If they haven’t met, I would hope that a meeting would be scheduled soon with Vatican authority. Both sides should review and understand what the other side teaches and its basis. The Catholics should then state the basis for their disagreement with the Protestant teaching. The Protestants should state the basis for their disagreement with the Catholic teaching. The results should be published in a single document and signed by those in attendance.
