It’s not supported by the RCC because the Protestant view that the rapture is an event whereby God takes a select group of faithful Christians out of the world before the tribulation in incorrect and contradicts Sacred Scripture.

The following link is an excellent explanation of the what Catholics believe. It is titled, “A Catholic View of the Rapture” Just follow the link below.

This is not Catholic teaching. For one thing this guy gives a date for the return of Christ, something that no Catholic would do. It’s bogus.

You are right that is the web site. I shall keep those rules in mind for the future. My apologies. However where does that site Say they are anti cc??? Ithought they where showing nothing but facts.

Ok so let me see if i have this right, the RCC teaches that there is no rapture, but that when Jesus’ second coming we are Judged and saved. and no one is taken into heaven until that day… Correct? or am i still off? lol

In short, Catholics believe the rapture will happen right at the second (final) coming of Christ, which will occur after the Tribulation.

The rapture (pre-trib), or lack thereof I should say, is a false, heretical, protestant creation that will not happen and is CONTRARY to the Bible and Jesus’s teachings…We will endure suffering on this earth just like He did, the Prophets did, and the martyrs did…we will not escape it and those that thing we will are lying to themselves…and those that preach we will are giving false hope to people and preaching heresy…now in the end, once Christ returns and the world is no more, we will all rise before the Great Judge…he will separate the goats from the sheep…the goats to his left and the sheep to his right

l agree…only the Father knows when the end will come. While the date is ‘bogus’ in my opinion the thrust of the article relating to scripture and the end times is faithful.

The rapture and Christ’s Second Coming occur together, after the tribulation (on the last day when time gives way to eternity).

Even though the idea of the “Rapture” before the tribulation is incorrect, I will say that those “Left Behind” books were a fun read. I breezed through all 14 of them. You just have to get past the blatant (and sometimes underlying) “Born-again” mumbo jumbo.

My understanding is that belief in the rapture (something about the assumption of all Christians into heaven before the end of the world but prior to judgment day) is a prodominatly Protestant belief and that it is not a belief shared by Catholics, so this is a two part question:
The Rapture is not a secret event. It will be accompanied by the Lords own “cry of command” from heaven, with the “archangel’s call,” and with “the sound of the trumpet of God” (1 Thess. 4:16). The Rapture occurs after the Resurrection on the last day. In 1 Thessalonians, Paul says: “For this we declare to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep. the dead in Christ will rise first; then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air”. The resurrection of the dead occurs on the “last day” of the world (John 6:39, 40, 44, 54; 11:24; 12:48). Because the resurrection of the dead occurs on the “last day” of the world, and the rapture follows the resurrection, this means that the rapture also occurs on the “last day” (there can be no day after the “last day”). Since the rapture occurs on the “last day,” it cannot occur on any other day (that is, there is no “pre-millennial” rapture).

The Rapture is the raising of the righteous and the unrighteous at the same time. In John 5:28-29, the Lord Jesus says:“Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come forth, those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.” “The hour” (v.28) is the same as the “last day” per John 6, 11 and 12. Jesus also says that “all who are in the tombs will hear his voice” (v.28). This follows Paul’s teaching on the resurrection/rapture event when he says that the Lord will descend from heaven with “a cry of command,” and the “dead in Christ will rise first” (1 Thess. 4:16).

It’s not supported by the RCC because the Protestant view that the rapture is an event whereby God takes a select group of faithful Christians out of the world before the tribulation in incorrect and contradicts Sacred Scripture.

I don’t know about this article, it gives a date of Christ’s second coming (2417 or something).
