What is the truth and how can i be sure that is the truth?

I was born catholic and have always been 100 hundred percent sure that our lord jesuschrist is the truth and the church founded by him has the truth but i have one issue. How can i be sure 100 percent that christ is the truth? To me it is the truth because i was raised knowing and loving christ and life make sense when i look at it through the teachings of christ but…say i was born a buddhist or hindu monk than i would think that buddhism or hinduism is the truth. How can i be sure. Im having a crisis of faith and its really consumimg my life.

You need to figure out what issue is causing your doubts and then read up on it. You can use the search feature or be more specific and people will help you find answers to your questions.

Your first two sentences contradict themselves. “You believe 100% that Jesus is the truth. But how can you be sure he is the truth.” Either you believe it or you don’t, which is it?

Well, we know HE is the truth because:

1. HE stated that Himself and HE predicted how HE would die and resurrect on the 3rd day.
2. HE actually did resurrect on the 3rd day.

If 2 had not happened, HE would have been forgotten a long time ago. But because HE is alive, HE has managed the greatest miracle. Save us and make us adoptive sons and daughters of HIS Father our GOD.

There you have it. No one from any other religion of the planet, ever declared himself/herself to be the “The Way, The Truth and the Life”, then be killed and come back to life. Not in myths but in actuality.

@JerryZ: If I may add to what you said…

Self-testimony doesn’t work… Our belief is that because God resurrected Jesus, God himself witnessed to Jesus… We have this testimony through many Saints and many miracles… it all ratifies that Jesus was/is/will be God…

The only potential debate is that he would have drivenout demons by Beelsebul, but then the arguments Christ puts forth is that a house divided against itself cannot stand… and yet the Church still stands 2000 years later…

How can i be sure 100 percent that christ is the truth?

Speaking for myself, I believe Christ is the truth because men just don’t think this way. Look at our books, movies, stories… in our stories the good guy wins & gets the girl. In the story of Christ, winning doesn’t look like winning. Not the way men think anyway.

God is love, love is real. God wants you to know & love him, because he knows & loves you. Buddhism & Hinduism miss that. We’re all one, we’re all connected. They got that right. But without love… true genuine love, they miss the mark.

Your question harkens Pilate’s response to Jesus - “Truth? What is Truth?”

I dont think you mean to sound like Pilate, though…

Sometimes I wonder how a lot of the Theologians came up with some of the interpretations and the rules for the church… May that be at least a part of what you mean, as well?
