I know this is usually a more serious forum but I figured you all would know what these are called. I would like to purchase the metal tops on seen on these candles. What are they called so I can try to find them online?

Thanks.
Hi, b.

I believe that is called a candle follower. They are also called ***candle buners ***or wax savers.

My source is www.cathedralcandles.com.

It would be great if you could buy them from your local Christian or Catholic store instead of buying them on-line. It saves you on shipping, and sometimes local stores will give a discount. Plus you are giving the business to local Christian people 🙂

Just a tip - make sure that what ever you buy is solid brass. That way you can clean them well and not have to worry about too much scratching or removing of a finish. They will take clean up much better than something that is not solid brass. Unless it is another type of machined metal. Just don’t buy something that is “gold tone”. 😃

Yeah I want to check my local haunts first. I just didn’t know what they were called. I also want them in brushed nickel finish / plated to match the candle holders I have (Construction of the home alter / home shrine has begun 😃 ). I didn’t want to walk into my local place here and belt out, “Hey, ya all got any of them metal candle topper thingies in c’here? You know what I’m talkin’ 'bout, right?”

Measure the current burners EXACTLY. There are many sizes, down to the sixteenth of an inch, and you want them to fit properly and not be lopsided. 👍

I thought about getting a 1" diameter size and then just making sure the candles I use are 1".

Measure the candle itself and the current burner, which will obviously be a bit larger. As long as you have the correct burner, meaning that it is completely straight and not lopsided, you should be OK.

Also, be sure you get the correct type. There are several types and styles, and you will want to match what your parish already uses. Some candles have glass followers (also known as wind shields), which would mean that the brass burners would have little claws on the bottom, to hold the glass in place. You will need to check this.

I use Tonini church supply and find them to be very reliable, even though one of the ordertakers is a very slow elderly woman. The more precise information that you have, the easier it wil be to order the items.
