I was in discussion with a “Born Again Bible Believer” who seems to hold to some pretty novel ideas which are quite uncommon in protestant circles. He said…

He did also say that Jesus is NOT God. Now WHAT is THAT??? I dont even think its Christian.

It’s not Christian. This is a belief of Jehovah’s Witnesses… and Oneness Pentacostals (who do not believe in the Trinity) and probably a whole bunch of other small sects.

It’s probably futile to try to argue Jesus is God, these people are usually pretty anti-intellectual… but you could find some good materials on Catholic Answers, especially ones dealing with JWs.

Now he has said that he is NOT a JW. Though he wont say what he IS other than a “Bible Believer”.

And I thought oneness pentacostals believed that ONLY Jesus is God. That Jesus is Father Son and Spirit. A sort of Modalism. Only one Person. Jesus.
 
Try 1John 5:7. It says that there are three, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and that, “these three are one.” Different translations may have different wording, but it’s basically the same.

John 1:1 is also good… In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
 
He obviously doesn’t ‘believe’ in a couple of crucial parts of the Bible, for example the part where Thomas calls Jesus ‘My Lord and my God’

Unfortunately, there’s no real evidence that this verse was in the Bible when it was originally written; it seems to be a rather late addition to the text.
