What is your job/profession? Where do you work, or if you aren’t working currently, which degree do you have?

I am a high school student, but I plan to study English and Croatian language and literature so that I may work in the field of education, but also do work which may be related in some way to my future degrees (if God wills).

What about you? 😁

I worked as an electrician for 30 years, mostly in the large office buildings here in Los Angeles, but I am now gratefully retired.

My mom’s family came from Slovenia, by the way, near the border with Croatia.

Electrical engineer. MSEE. Work for a relatively small company in San Diego. Analog specislty, so I get the low level audio, RF, datacom, antenna development and other stuff often described as “black magic”. (Hint… it’s not)

Been working professionally in the field for over 55 years. I’ll retire when they pry my cold, dead fingers from the computer keyboard. As with many, currently working from home right now.

StephieNorthCo – as in north county. I used to live in Oceanside, Encinitas, and Del Mar. Went into La Jolla and San Diego a lot. Very familiar territory.

As for the OPs question – I was an independent massage practitioner and an in-home caregiver (Home Health Aide), but now I’m retired and can do whatever I please (but not now, during this pandemic). I now take care of my cats and fish, feed and water the birds, and enjoy gardening, once the ground dries out.

Have an M.B.A and am fortunately retired. Just enjoying my grandkids and time with family. Sitting on my backyard patio wondering why I don’t have a wine glass nearby. But what’s the rush?

I retired from the United States Marine Corps after serving 30 years. When I first retired, I worked as a Farrier (Horseshoer). I also worked as a structural welder/fabricator. Because of injuries sustained while in the Marine Corps, my back became so bad I could barely walk and I began to prepare to live the rest of my life in a wheelchair. So now, I had to decide what to do. If I could have, I would have gone back into the Marine Corps, but this was of course, not possible. I decided to put myself into a position where I could be around veterans.

Here in the U.S., the agency that works the most with veterans is the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA). I did my research and found that the VA mainly hires Clinical Social Workers. I went back to school. I did all that it took to become a clinical social worker and now I work for the VA; specifically the Readjustment Counseling Service as a Readjustment Counselor. I help veterans reconnect with the civilian world. Also; along the way, the VA provided me with a back surgery which has resulted in me being able to walk and exercise! What did I learn? I could not have done this without Jesus. Through all the challenges, I would pray. I finally learned not to fight change, but rather to ride the change and see what new doors may open.

Slacker, High School diploma, some college, no degree.

Well, I am not an American, but God bless you for your service and your love towards service.

What are your plans with law? A lawyer, or something else? 😁

I am a high school student and I started a web hosting company last August, but I plan on majoring in business management when the time comes

I design and make architectural and art work in metals, mostly forged hot and generally in stainless steel. I’ve been doing this since I was a boy in my father’s forge. First forging lesson aged seven and still going at it at fifty eight and will continue til I drop dead or can no longer lift my hammer. Then I would still continue designing. Retirement is not an option!

Wow, it’s so good to hear that you love your work like that. That’s a great thing for a person to have.

As one of the groups of people who in these hard times are on the streets, thank you for your efforts and service. 😁

Nurse. BSN.
Dipped my toe into acting (a couple paid gigs) some years back.
