What do you hope to accomplish? I would like to save souls by spreading spiritual wisdom, but people tend to think that my spiritual wisdom in utter nonsense, even among many Catholics.

Why seek the natural when you can have the supernatural? In other words, why seek natural worldly pleasures when you can experience the much higher-ordered value contained in the supernatural pleasures made possible by the Holy Spirit? Do you think this is wisdom or folly?

I am a convert from atheism, and through my philosophical reading, personal reflection, prayer life and so on, the only thing I aim for is utter union with God. Obviously I don’t ignore worldly responsibilities, but I make the attempt each day to do that which will bring me closer to God - currently discerning a monastic vocation, All of humanities end is the same, whether people realise it or not. From God we come, and to Him we return.

That’s a very worthwhile goal, but seeing so many suffer from what I believe is a spiritual deficiency, I try to guide them, but I feel like a failure in my efforts!

It is best I think to lead by example. People are converted most powerfully by encountering holiness. I think if we work on ourselves and our holiness first, this will translate and influence the people around you. Saying that, I am aware in myself of the need to think of others more, I am far too in my own head.

I have to become a Two term US President 🇺🇸, Serve in Congress, Lead an expeditionary force to recover Noah’s Ark from Mt. Ararat, Create a North American Union comprised of the USA, Mexico, and Canada, Promote cheap nuclear fusion, and write several books.

At 65, I’m still trying to figure that out. I may have already accomplished it, I don’t know. Not too worried about it though. I like the saying, “If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans!” I think the same is true for goals, vision, purpose, etc. It’s all in His hands.

When you speak of things otherworldly or unnatural, even when there is evidence, it seems and feels unbelievable because its not our everyday natural experience. Its not just supernatural concepts that causes bias and skepticism. The idea that there are other intelligent beings like us living on other planets is also met with bias and skepticism and we an’t even talking about God.

People don’t want to be deceived and a lot of people don’t want to commit to anything otherworldly without absolute certainty especially with a being like God that wants us to live according to his plan. So some people simply focus on the tangible and the practical.

A lot of people don’t want to believe in God, they want to be their own God…

The one thing i would like to do is write a book that was so good that anyone having a crisis of faith would immediately feel strong again.

All Catholics should take up the prayer of Christ that we may be one. Jesus founded the Catholic Church and we should be on a mission to bring protestants Home.

The more i push the more i feel like i am up against an insurmountable obstacle. Only God can move that rock. Your job is only that you tried.

This is a fundamental question, the answer to which mankind cannot live without.

The prior question is 'who are you?" Our mission (purpose) emanates from who we are as human beings.

When you talk about spriritual things, even to Catholics who have not known the Lord,

“… the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.” I Cor. 1

The things of God are not natural to this world. Spiritual wisdom seems like utter nonsense because only the regenerate can perceive it.

There are many reasons for this. One is that people do not know another way. Another is that the supernatural is frightening and unpredictable, so people choose to stay with what is familiar. Even if it is mundane, or painful, the unknown can be risky.
I feel like a failure in my efforts!
we are one beggar telling another beggar where to find the bread. All we can do is plant some seeds. We need to live a life that leads others to think “I want what he has!” In this endeavor, we cannot go by our feelings. Satan loves to make us feel like failures so we will not fulfill the will of God for us.

When the Apostles preached some mocked, some scoffed, and some believed. At the least, 2/3 of yoru audience will not believe, and even those that do, they may falter when times get hard.

My purpose in life is to leave as much positive effects in as many other people’s lives as possible.

I recognize that some people can become spiritual gluttons and that such spirituality is to be avoided. But there is a spirituality that brings about inner peace and calm, along with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

To know, love, and serve God in this life in order to be happy with him in the next.

I am never more than what I was created to be than when I am leading the assembly in sung prayer (either as a song leader, cantor, or soloist).

I can say from private revelation that I’m called to suffer, be pure, and defend the faith (apologetics). Beyond that I never received anything from God regarding a career path or I was called to marriage.

I have many goals relating to different areas of my life, but if i think of myself on my deathbed and the one that would matter to me most, it would be that i was an excellent father and husband; meaning that me and my wife gave our children a better start in life than I had.

Catholicism is an important part of achieving that because I don’t see another framework of ideas that makes the family as valuable.
