What is your viewpoint of what Heaven is?

No, I am not in pain. I just do not think you can define what heaven is but you can certainly describe what it is not. Didn’t Aquinas or one of the Church Doctors say basically the same thing about God? You cannot describe what He is but you can describe what He is not. I’m just an under-educated bumpkin so it is all beyond me. Do not think of pain only in physical terms. Instead, expand the normal, daiy usage of the word to include mental, moral, spiritual, et formae aliae.

Interesting responses-

As I think of Eternal Heavens I cannot help but to think of the trillions upon trillions of years in the afterlife.
What is the purpose of this life? To live it fearing God so that when we die we can go look at pictures of saints?
This life seems so full of purpose, yet the afterlife based on our responses has no defined purpose? I mean watching babies get baptized for the next trillion years! Maybe you meant Hell not Heaven.
God is all powerful- Why does he even need us in heaven? I just can’t buy into a theory that the almighty power of heavens is narcissistic and created us just to worship him for eternity. We had to be created for an eternal purpose. It just doesn’t make any sense to me otherwise.

I found this to be a more concise Catholic response an one with more meaning. I wish we had more people who actually studied the scriptures and know our doctrine. Seems to that too many are busy learning other faiths doctrines.

Friend Richard735: I am glad that you’re not in pain. That was my only concern when I read your post.
