Low mass except that it is missa cantata once a month. I like that, asI am in choir and singing the entire mass every week would be a lot. We literally prepare all month for that mass…esp because we only practice on sundays.

I was wondering what type of Latin Mass is the most common. What type of Latin Mass do you attend?
I’m not sure whether it’s the most common, but I frequently attend a sung Novus ordo liturgy in Latin, using gregorian chant from the Graduale and the Kyriale, and often with incense. It’s quite reverent and lovely.
Has anyone attended a dialogue Mass? Do they still have dialogue Masses these days?
The liturgies I mentioned are essentially dialogue Masses. I believe it’s preferable for the priest and congregation to be worshiping together, not just simultaneously. I’ve had the experience at tridentine Masses where the priest says his bit at the altar while the choir is singing the analogous texts. But since the priest is saying his part, he finishes before the choir and goes to the sedilia to sit down. The congregation then sits down, too. The liturgy proper seems to be on hold while the choir finishes its mini-concert, then Father can get on with the Mass. It’s as if two parallel things are going on, each at a different pace. But it seems that it should be one coordinated thing, with priest, congregation, and choir all at the same point in the liturgy at the same time.

The Mass we Pray at on sunday is usally a Missa Cantata , they have Low Mass every day as well For the enitre Triduum they prayed the Missa Solemnis

I have also been to a Pontifical Low mass and 2 Pontifical Solemn High Mass’.
They were beautiful.

I had never seen a dialogue mass until this last Sunday at the Campus of Notre Dame, The newly restored Extraordinary form mass was a dialogue mass, it was very interesting and I did enjoy it.

I would really like to find on of these just for the experience. None within three diocese of home.😦

Hello,
I’m from Bacolod City, Negros Occidenteal Philippines. I have not heard Latin Prayers in my whole life and I’m longing to hear some. The language used in mass is the dialect and English. What should I do?
