I was looking at a list of Catholic baby names and came across “Horatio,” which was rather unexpected and peaked my interest. I couldn’t find any St. Horatio, Horatius, Horace, etc., so I’m just curious as to what might qualify it as a particularly Catholic name. It is because it’s derived from Latin? Is it simply that it is a basically inoffensive name that it would not be excessively cruel for a Christian parent to bestow upon their child?
