this is more Christian than Catholic news, but this seemed like the most approiate category.
A senior teacher has been suspended from his £50,000-a-year job after he complained that a training day for staff was used to promote gay rights.
Kwabena Peat, 54, was one of several Christian staff who walked out of the compulsory session at a North London school after an invited speaker questioned why people thought heterosexuality was natural.
Mr Peat said he had expected her merely to provide information to help teachers handle homophobic bullying, but she had gone much further.
‘She started promoting homosexual lifestyles and suggesting those who had objections should sort out their prejudices. She said, “What makes you all think that to be heterosexual is natural?” It was at that point I walked out.’

just think of this like a movie. this is just the coming attractions for the US.

Duh! Because Hetero’s can pro-create? Maybe? There’s more that could be said but I think I’ll leave that to others or to the comment “Nuf Said!”

I read the article (thanks for the link) and I am a little confused about who originally sponsored the training session. Did the school board or the British equivalent make this a mandatory “professional development” session in order to meet some politically correct agenda connected to funding levels or was the a one school idea?

I am often amazed by the approach of the gay community to ensuring they are not left out due to their sexual orientation. It seems that it is not enough that there is equality but they insist on additional access to society to aggressively bash-about making sure their voices are the loudest. I wonder if the school considered having a guest speaker who could address what teachers should do to deal with situations where their personal beliefs are offended or attacked by others?

Equality and balance is what our Lord taught. He taught compassion for everyone and tolerance for all. I certainly don’t care what someone’s sexual orientation is and I certainly don’t ask. People are people and I try very hard to love them all, just as Jesus asked us to.
Conflict can only exist in a right/wrong world where someone has to be wrong so someone can be right. I don’t think the question is the sensationalized headline presented but what do we do to stop this type of conflict behaviour?

equality yes, but tolerance no, that wasn’t the message. when He healed Jesus said ‘go and sin no more’, when He saw the abuses of the money changers He flipped the tables and chased them out with a whip. we are called to love the sinner but hate the sin. simply accepting it falls short of the second half.

this is a fallen world. there is right and wrong. as Catholics we are privliged to know the Truth, secular truth can’t compare. your idea seem to border of relativism.

how do we stop the conflict? thats easy. we pray, for ourselves and the world that we may go and sin no more. if that were the case we’d have no problems with the gay lobby trying to bully believers into accepting them.

Excellent answer!

Pray but do not accept sin, we love all of our brothers and sisters and if we don’t help them get to heaven we will join them in hell!

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora pro Nobis Peccatoribus!

The sexual urge is fulfilled when genes are successfully re-introduced into the next generation. The urge can be satisfied other ways but it’s reason for being is fulfilled through reproduction. We have sex because we die.

the pairbond originates in the first animals that copulated . It created the environment required for the male and female to join and contribute their genetic material. The pairbond became increasingly wider and panoramic as the offspring required a landscape to learn how to survive. The environment created by the pairbond grew to cosmic proportions in humans to the point of metaphysical ascent to union with god as a Sacrament to ensure that human life began in sanctity.

The pairbond flows from a deep place in the flesh of life and it flows from both genders.

“What makes you all think that to be heterosexual is natural?”

If they didn’t know that one, nothing else they could possibly have had to say could be worth hearing either. If I had been there, and had I been able to stop laughing, I would have walked too.

I wonder how they think they got here? Under a cabbage leaf in the garden?
