just for fun, if you have pets, what kinds?

in my lifetime so far, I’ve had two rabbits, a bird and thre dogs, tried to adopt two cats but that didn’t work out

In my lifetime, wow. Two cockatiels, then a clutch of two babies, an obese American Eskimo that looked like a potbellied pig when shaved seven dogs. One we got from the pound; the others came from other people who no longer wanted them. Two rats. I would say the fish don’t count since they never survived long.

Let’s see… as a kid, a tank full of guppies.

Adult: weiner dog. Canary. Two goldfish. Then 5 cats (at peak, 3 at once), currently a boxer.

I have to consider myself a cat person.

I have a cat. Despite her timid nature, she’s incredibly affectionate. She won’t be on YouTube any time soon, though. You need catnip for that, and she’s not a fan of catnip.

In my lifetime I have had dogs, cats, rabbits,
birds and horses. I am currently petless as I am renting.

Right now I have a beagle and a cat we just rescued.
As a kid we had lots of dogs and a few cats. Most of the dogs were beagles as dad used to breed and train them. Have you ever seen 10 beagles playing? 🤣
I had a parrot once, It was an interesting experience. I was getting shipped overseas so my folks agreed to keep it till I got back. They watched it until two of my younger brothers taught it to cuss, so I had them find a new home for him.

Hi angell1,

It’s so great to see you posting! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

You’ve been in my thoughts, so it’s nice to see you here. 😀

We’ve always had a cat in my home when I was growing up…

When I was really little, we still had my Mom’s kitty in our home from when she was a little girl. I think that kitty lived to be around 14 or so.

When my husband and I got married, we started to get kitties in pairs of twos so that they would be company for each other. Those kitties lived to be 16 and 17 years old. 😍

The most recent kitty that we had just passed away at the end of January of this year.

She was the second kitty out of the second pair of kitties that we had.

Her house mate died back in the Summer of 2011. He was almost 12 years old. The Vets in the group that we took both of them to think that he might have had either some kind of a brain tumor or cancer when he passed. He passed away in the middle of running tests on him.

Our old girl kitty was about 21 years old when she passed away in January. She had a hyperthyroid and had other complications from it, including kidney issues.

Editing my post to add that I forgot about my fish, too! 😀

I had gold fish off and on too, while living at home.

When I was a child, I had a fancy gold fish for a long time. After it died, I didn’t have any fish for awhile until I won a fish at a carnival, and then my Dad helped me set up a fish bowl for it again.

My Dad bought some other fish for it, so that there were other fish in the bowl, too.

I had fish again for awhile until those fish died. They lived several years.

I was without fish again until several years later when my maternal Gramma decided to get some more gold fish for me. 🙂

Those didn’t live too long, and that was the last time that I had fish.

I have had animals my whole life. Currently I have 2 cats and a dog. One of the 2 cats is an inside/outside cat. He goes out during the day and comes in at night. One cat is a Russian Blue the other a Siamese and my dog is a beagle mix. All came here as young 6 or 8 month old strays.

I have six cats and two dogs (both of them are english springer spaniels)

At the moment we have three cats,a dog, various poultry,a pony and some Barbary doves 🙂
When the children were little there were rabbits, Guinea pigs, ferrets, calves and lambs, rats and mice plus rescued birds and reptiles 😅
When I was young I had quite a range including a swan 🙂(We lived on a farm )

Living on a farm give one access to lots of pets. 🐷 😼 🐶 🐄 🦃

I did not make pets out of snakes, rats or mice.

Cats and a dog who thinks he’s a cat.

Edit- Our sweet puppy child, Sunshine Sunny Guy has now crossed the Rainbow Bridge at age 12.

Right now, two desert tortoises and some tropical fish (zebra danios).

In the past, many cats, dogs and other furry critters, fish, reptiles, and birds.

Right now I have 2 cats. One is a rescue cat and she’s pure black. She is the most cuddly cat I’ve ever had.

One of my most memorable pets was a Parakeet named Tweety. He had a large vocabulary. My favorite line of his was, “Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty!”

Did you ever have scorpions as pets? I’m not keen on them, but a nephew has one 🤔

I didn’t like scorpions either. We sold them and tarantulas when I worked in the pet store 😒

Tarantulas appear to be somewhat more cuddly …but do they show signs of affection ? 😅🕷️
